CUMULAR(IA), RETALES, and SERIADA are wall installations by Colombian-Mexican glass artist Luisa Restrepo, composed from recycled glass from the remnants of other previous artworks. Through an intuitive process, Restrepo transforms these discarded fragments into new compositions, giving renewed life and meaning to what was once considered waste.

By carrying debris from past creations into future possibilities, the works trace a journey through memory, transformation, and material reinvention—where one artwork unexpectedly gives rise to another. Balancing process and surprise, they reveal creation itself as a cycle of renewal.

CUMULAR(IA) was recently (Dec 2025) acquired by the Chrysler Museum of Art, recognizing the significance of this body of work by Luisa Restrepo.
