‘ESPINA DE FLOR’ armchair
By Emilio Flores, Mexico
DREAM your seat
ESPINA DE FLOR, is an impressive bronze chair, hand-crafted in the lost-wax technique by Mexican artist Emilio Flores. Emilio’s work explores the visual patterns created by the fragmentation of organic matter and how these patterns can reflect social, historical, and personal events. This series does not aim to replicate nature but instead proposes new configurations—patterns that feel organic yet do not exist in nature, suggesting potential forms.
The chair introduces functionality, reminding us that in nature, forms are shaped by purpose and order.
Emilio Flores (1988, Monterrey, Mexico) studied Liberal Arts at the University of Navarra in Pamplona and Creative Communication Strategy at Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona.
Emilio's work delves into visual patterns created by the fragmentation of organic matter, exploring how observing these patterns can be extrapolated to social, historical, and personal events.
His art has been exhibited in cities such as Monterrey, Mexico City, Guadalajara, San Antonio, TX, Barcelona, and Shanghai.
