This sculpture by Julio Martínez Barnetche lets an incredible Meteorite, weighing 3,8 kilos shine and dance on a carved white marble base.

The carving reminds me of the ritual carvings on some Hindu monuments. The motifs, the style... the carving on the base corresponds to the silhouette of the meteorite. This sculpture becomes a link between this collection and the one of HUELAS Y SOMBRAS / TRACES AND SHADOWS. The carving simulates the tail of the rock as it travels through space, and at the same time, the footprint it left when falling to Earth. It is also a double tree; one carved in marble and another on the wooden post that supports it
