Wanderart - Alessandra Pasqua

 WANDERART - ALESSANDRA PASQUA

Wanderart is a contemporary atelier, founded in Rome, Italy, by artist Alessandra Pasqua, where unique artworks and collectible design objects come to life.

Wanderart is the need to wander, to capture and reveal the wonder.

Through its original creative lexicon, the atelier explores matter and materials, blurring the boundaries between art and design, technology and manual expertise, whilst combining the savoir-faire of Made in Italy and its centuries-old history.

The diverse aesthetic languages and techniques serve as imaginative instruments, enabling a profound exploration focused on collaborative research, and a readiness to embrace the most unforeseen hypotheses.

WANDERART’s LUNAR COLLECTION

In this universe of unpredictable possibilities, sophisticated works arise, originating from the interaction between matter and the environment, as well as between matter and humans, transcending the simple duality of nature and artifice, noble and mundane materials, virgin resources and waste from production processes.

The ethics of responsibility drives the atelier, a pact made between the artist and Mother Earth – present and renewed even in the most innovative creations - by delivering artefacts with the least possible impact on the environment whilst preserving their distinctive and exclusive essence.

BIO

Alessandra Pasqua (Rome, 1975) lives and works in Rome.

She studied painting at Central Saint Martins in London and attended courses in goldsmithing at Alchimia School in Florence as well as lost-wax metal casting sculpture techniques. Early life humanistic studies shaped her strong interest in poetry, language, and mythology, later intertwining with her technical skills.

She graduated with honors in Building Engineering and worked for a long time in the field of architecture and engineering at ARUP Ltd, and later in design, as head of a Business Aviation Design Studio (Mecaer Aviation Group), where she developed style designs for helicopters and business jets cabin interiors, also winning several design awards.

For over a decade she has been deepening her artistic research, examining the potential of the sculptural form and the power of three-dimensional objects.

Her poetic investigation analyzes the identity of the human being, his passions, weaknesses and hopes, observing how the “bent over” individual constantly questions himself about the purpose of life, while at the same time expressing a perfect self-image.

Her reflection ponders over the link between emotions and the "wound of the unloved" inner child (Peter Schellenbaum), but also over the ability of people to resonate with one another and ultimately with nature.

Alessandra Pasqua's artistic narrative aims to represent fragments of the Jungian collective unconscious and is focused on the artist’s personal imagery, meanings and myths.

The result of this introspective path gives shape to anthropomorphic sculptures, rounded and emotional swellings, and materializes solid steel or colourful self-built cages.

LUNAR COLLECTION

Lunar is an ode to matter and its origins.
Lunar tells a story of energy and vitality inherent in the evolution of things.
Lunar stages the morphogenetic processes that mold the natural elements.

It draws inspiration from the intricate formation processes of land emerging while highlighting the vibrant and original forms of sedimentary basins and natural debris deposits.

Lunar seeks to reveal the beauty nested in the intrinsic dialogue between human intervention and unexpected creation.
Irregular surfaces, together with protrusions and craters, become emblematic of a natural and spontaneous aesthetic.
Representing the perpetual evolution of matter, this edition is born from an attentive exploration of residual metal elements found in casting crucibles.
Metal is forged, transformed, liquefied, and ultimately shaped, leaving behind unique and endemic components
- impurities, remnants, and residues - all part of the unpredictable essence of matter.

A perpetual transformation of matter embodied in the terrestrial movements, the pulsating energy of creation.
Tables, mirrors, vases, and sculptures blend in a formal ensemble.
An elegant combination of aluminum, bronze, and brass, showcased in their pure essence, and intertwined in a chromatic conversation.
Sinuous and textured objects take shape, bridging the realms of nature and artifice.
